About Us

Corner Drug Store has been a staple of Sackville New Brunswick for many years and has an exciting history! The land was the site of a small shop that was built in 1857. In 1875, the building was extended and raised to 3 stories, and opened as a pharmacy. Other parts of the building contained stores, offices, and a hall used by community groups, meetings, and as a band room for the Sackville Citizens Band.

The building continued to operate as a pharmacy under various names until 1923 when the pharmacy name was changed to the “Corner Drug Store”, and remained a pharmacy until 1992.

In August 2006, the building was destroyed by fire and demolished. In 2009, the Corner Drug Store (Guardian) was re-opened, and continues the tradition going back to 1875 of having a pharmacy on the Ground floor.

Andrea Stubbert

Andrea Stubbert

Pharmacist/Manager

Andrea is a licensed pharmacist in both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. She graduated from Dalhousie University in 2000 with her Pharmacy degree, after completing a Bachelor of Science from Saint Mary’s University. After working in Nova Scotia for a few years, she ventured to Ontario to take on owning her own pharmacy. An opportunity arose a few years later, and she returned to Fall River, Nova Scotia, and owned a pharmacy there for several years. In January 2021, she moved to Springhill, Nova Scotia, and started working for the Corner Drug Store, and Springhill Community Pharmacy. Andrea enjoys meeting the customers, and being able to help them improve their health. She hopes to make a difference for each customer she encounters. She loves how the profession has changed over the years, to allow pharmacists to perform injections, and now prescribing prescriptions. In her spare time she loves going out on her paddle board, golfing, hiking to waterfalls, and travelling.

Ian Taylor

Pharmacist

Ian Graduated in 1991 from the Dalhousie College of Pharmacy in Halifax. After a brief stint in Moncton, he started working in Springhill in late 1991, where he has spent the majority of his Pharmacy career. In March of 2004 he opened Springhill Community Pharmacy with Murray Fraser. Ian has seen a lot of changes over his 28 years as a Pharmacist, but what hasn’t changed is his passion for working with the public, helping patients and making a difference in people’s lives. He finds one on one patient interactions particularly rewarding, including counseling, injections, medication reviews and pharmacist prescribing. In his spare time Ian enjoys his Cats and Dogs, cooking, hiking, traveling, gardening and Craft Beer.
